Caution
Wet paint in thick layers.
Un-sanded, the errors were painted over.
Wedges and cracks shown from up close.
The errors were still there, you see.
Old cracks would come again, like they had before,
even though the fresh coat seemed promising.
From afar the white gleamed trim was clean and new.
But still, it wasn't to be trusted.
Fresh paint was the oldest trick and
and it kept many, many secrets.
